Arnold Janssen

6 Arnold Janssen BILD Steve.jpg
Arnold Janssen, the most important citizen of the town of Goch, was born on 5 November 1837 and baptised the following day in the Maria-Magdalena parish church. As the founder of the globally active Steyler Missionary Society (SVD) and two sister communities, he set new impulses in the proclamation of faith, both overseas and here in Germany. In 2003, Arnold Jansen was canonised by Pope John Paul II - and since 2005, Goch has been a place of pilgrimage where
Saint Arnold Janssen receives special veneration.
